Since 2015, China University of Petroleum (East China), in response to the national industrial development planning decision and deployment, undertook the establishment of the first batch of advanced training courses for chemical safety interdisciplinary talents in China. So far, it has successfully held five consecutive training courses and trained 426 students in total. Meng Yifei, deputy director of the Environmental Department of China University of Petroleum (East China), introduced that with the changes in national policies and social needs, the training program of high-level seminars has been combined from the initial professional training and postgraduate training to the current professional training. After several changes, as of today, a training system with six major modules including basic theory improvement, professional technology improvement, risk management, compound development, and fixed activities as the main characteristics has been formed, in order to cultivate "knowing technology, knowing safety, knowing technology, and knowing management." With the continuous efforts of the chemical safety compound talents, the on-site experts and trainees conducted in-depth discussions on the training system and put forward optimization suggestions for the core courses.
 
Wang Haoshui emphasized that chemical safety should start from process safety management, combine the actual situation, understand the needs of socialization in advance, and make it clear that the cultivation of compound talents is the main direction of future development. Combining current affairs, participating in practice, truly applying the knowledge learned to practical work, adding environmental protection and economics courses, systematically studying the 20 elements of chemical safety process thoroughly.
 
Yang Chaohe, dean of the School of Safety Supervision and Supervision (Qingdao) and professor of the School of Chemical Engineering of China University of Petroleum (East China), said that it is necessary to give full play to the advantages of the curriculum system teacher team, divide the matrix according to the curriculum system and ability objectives, and set up specialized personnel to conduct cross-disciplinary review and logic.
