Professor Xiao Huahua from the University of Science and Technology of China gave a lecture on the flame mechanism and simulation technology in the utilization of hydrogen energy and clean combustion

On May 8, 2019, Professor Xiao Huahua from the State Key Laboratory of Fire Science of the University of Science and Technology of China gave a lecture on "Hydrogen Energy Utilization and Flame Mechanism and Simulation Technology in Clean Combustion". Teacher Liu Yi from the research group, Mr. Kong Depeng from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, members of the center Ouyang Zhenyu, Yin Fabo, etc., as well as all the students in the research group, and trainees from the CNPC professional and technical backbone training class attended the lecture.

Xiao Huahua introduced the background and current situation of hydrogen energy utilization, and based on the phenomenon of the fire whirlwind, innovative experiments discovered the blue fire whirlwind. The blue fire whirlwind has a higher burning rate and higher flame temperature than traditional fire whirlwinds. If it is applied to marine oil pollution cleaning, it can speed up the cleaning speed and reduce soot emissions. Xiao Huahua explained the formation process and formation mechanism of the blue fire cyclone from two aspects: flame formation mechanism and numerical simulation result analysis. Based on years of research results, Xiao Huahua explained in detail the numerical simulation technology of flame mutation dynamics and the mechanism of flame acceleration and DDT (deflagration to detonation).

After the lecture, the participants consulted and discussed with Xiao Huahua based on the research content and actual work of the subject, and Professor Xiao answered questions one by one for the participants. This lecture deepened the students' understanding of the flame formation mechanism, expanded their scientific research horizons, understood the world's cutting-edge technologies, and realized the truth that the pursuit of the essence of things can better conduct scientific research.
