Professor Zhao Dongfeng has been committed to teaching and scientific research in chemical safety and environmental protection for a long time. He is a leader and practitioner in the training of chemical safety talents in my country. In 2011, the concept of compound talents in chemical safety was first put forward in China, and jointly promoted the training of compound talents in the country with the China Chemical Safety Association; in 2013, the leading chemical engineering undergraduate major opened the first “chemical process safety” in the country. "Undergraduate professional direction, explore the chemical safety talent training system from the undergraduate level; from 2015 to 2018, promoted and presided over the former State Administration of Work Safety "Chemical Safety High-level Talent Training Class" project, and established a relatively mature curriculum system and training program. Obtained document support from the Ministry of Education and the former State Administration of Work Safety, national pilot promotion, has a significant social impact; in 2017, presided over the application and was approved to build the "Safety Supervision College of the State Administration of Work Safety (Qingdao)", and systematically explored and practiced emergency response Management and management cadres' safety supervision ability improvement training system. In 2018, he organized the application and was successfully approved for the first undergraduate major of "Chemical Safety Engineering". In the same year, he presided over the national education reform project "Exploration and Practice of Compound Advanced Engineering Talent Cultivation for Chemical Safety Engineering". Professor Zhao innovated the chemical safety compound talent training system, actively updated the teaching content, and continuously reformed the teaching method, which won unanimous praise from the students. At the same time, Professor Zhao attaches great importance to the construction of teaching teams. Since 2006, he has systematically built a "chemical safety compound talent training teaching team" and implemented a systematic training plan for young and middle-aged teachers, which has had a positive impact on the improvement of team teaching effects.

Relying on the major of "Chemical Safety Engineering" and the major of "Chemical Process Safety" in the major of Chemical Engineering and Technology as the construction support, and the "Safety Supervision and Supervision College (Qingdao)" of the Emergency Management Department as the expansion and link, grasping the "New Engineering Department of the Ministry of Education" "The spirit of construction" and the development opportunity of the "Six Excellence and One Top" Program 2.0, for the training of multi-level talents such as undergraduates, postgraduates, and continuing education, build a multidisciplinary "chemical safety compound talent" training system. The teaching team has 3 professors, 5 associate professors, 7 lecturers, and 1 senior experimenter. Each member has a chemical safety related academic background and is fully qualified for the training of chemical safety compound talents. At the same time, the team members have diverse professional backgrounds and mostly different research directions. This kind of talent composition structure enables the construction of the chemical safety compound talent training system and the curriculum content design to have a more comprehensive vision and problem thinking direction. The rich engineering practice background of the team members has laid a solid foundation for the realization of the course objectives of the courses and the cultivation of students' engineering practice ability. In terms of training mode, construction of teaching resources, practical education, industry-university-research collaborative education, and international talent training, we will create national "chemical safety engineering" professional construction standards and models, and create "four helix theory + dual linkage mechanism" talent training The new concept provides the experience that can be used for reference and promotion for the training of national chemical safety talents. At the beginning of 2018, the former State Administration of Work Safety clearly affirmed our school's achievements in the training of chemical safety talents in the "special report" to the State Council on the cultivation of chemical safety talents, and received the review and approval of national leaders. In 2018, the team declared "Research and Practice on the Cultivation of Chemical Safety Compound Talents Based on the National Work Safety Strategic Demand", which won the Special Prize of Teaching Achievement of China University of Petroleum (East China) and the First Prize of Teaching Achievement of Shandong Province.
