The Second Advanced Seminar for Chemical Safety Compound Talents (Second Batch) Completion Online Defense Goes Smoothly
On the morning of September 19, the second batch of online completion defenses of the second advanced training class for chemical safety compound talents of China University of Petroleum (East China) proceeded as scheduled. Zhao Dongfeng, Director of the Expert Committee of the School of Safety Supervision and Supervision (Qingdao), Professor Liu Yi, Associate Dean of the School of Chemical Engineering, China University of Petroleum (East China), Hou Yingfei, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office,Professor Zhao Chaocheng, Associate Professor Lu Shuai, and Associate Professor Li Shi of the School of Chemical Engineering served as the leaders of the six defense expert groups. At the same time, experts from different companies such as China National Chemical, PetroChina, and Sinopec were invited to participate in the defense as members of the defense committee.
The second advanced training class for chemical safety compound talents has 136 students from major companies, design institutes and consulting institutions such as China National Petroleum Corporation, Sinopec, AVIC, China National Chemical Corporation, Sinochem, Wanhua Chemical, etc, of which 48 had already attended The first batch of defenses was completed, and a total of 64 students submitted applications for thesis defense.After reviewing the originality of the students' papers, the practical application of the company, the comprehensiveness of the research content, and the credibility of the results, the in-school tutors team finally decided to allow 58 students to participate in the defense report.

During the defense process, the trainees reported on the topic background, purpose and meaning of the thesis, solving practical problems, the content of the thesis, and the results of the thesis. Experts from the defense group conducted in-depth and simple questions to assess the logical framework, completeness, innovations, practical guiding significance and other aspects of the paper, and discussed and exchanged relevant research content of the paper, which fully reflected the high standards and strict training principle of chemical safety compound talents.
All the students that participated in the defense passed this time, and 13 of them were rated as excellent. The second advanced training class of chemical safety compound talents has come to an end for the time being, but the study of chemical safety will never be suspended. The Advanced Seminar for Chemical Safety Compound Talents is a special talent training project carried out by China University of Petroleum (East China) under the support and guidance of the Emergency Management Department. It is specifically organized and implemented by the Safety Supervision Institute (Qingdao) and China University of Petroleum (East China) Safety, Environmental Protection and Energy Saving Technology Center.Since undertaking the pilot project of the Advanced Seminar for Chemical Safety Compound Talents of the Ministry of Emergency Management in 2015, China University of Petroleum (East China) has carried out three high-level seminars for talent training, and has trained more than 300 students for major enterprises, currently the fourth The enrollment of the senior research class has been completed, and the first intensive study will be conducted in October. During the two-year learning process, the students of the advanced research class adopted the three continuous online learning modes of "theoretical learning, production practice, and experience sharing" ,systematically learned safety system engineering, chemical process safety, and chemical equipment safety , Chemical safety instrumentation and other 20 professional courses, and listened to more than 20 series of lectures by domestic and foreign chemical safety experts. In the teaching process, advanced teaching methods such as case teaching, flipped classrooms, professional seminars and on-site teaching were widely used, aiming to provide the society with chemical safety compound senior talents who “know crafts, understand safety, refine technology, and manage”.
