      Professor Zhao has been teaching in the realm of environment and safety engineering for 19 years, since graduated in 1992.He gave lectures for the undergraduate and graduate students in environmental engineering and safety engineering on "Water Project", "Environmental Quality Analysis and Evaluation", "Introduction of Petroleum Industry and Environmental Protection", "Environmental Planning and Management", "safety evaluation", "Advancing knowledge of Safety Engineering, ", etc. He set up "Chemical Safety and the Environment" program in Chemical Engineering College, and introduced and brought up several young teachers in chemical safety engineering college. He built the chemical safety engineering laboratory. Also he is a instructor and gives lectures for the oil industry-related training.
      Professor Zhao compiled the material of "Introduction to Petroleum Industry" in 1996, in the same year, he gave lectures on it first time to undergraduate school in UPC, which has become a compulsory course recently. He compiled " health, safety and environmental management system training course of oil and gas industry " in 2000 (Associate Editor), which is the textbook for the HSE course of petroleum College. He participated as the main editorial in the compilation of "safety evaluation", which is the specified materials for training certificates in the industry. He also participated to the compilation for other 8 relevant materials. He won the honor of “outstanding teachers of UPC," and “outstanding courseware” for several times. At the demand of home and abroad, He is currently working with the United States Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Center for Process Safety (CCPS), whilst promote the "chemical process safety" course to undergraduate students.
      In 2004, He organized, declare and accessed to “national top level safety training institutions " for China University of Petroleum (East China). He founded and got approval for "the State Administration of Production Safety Supervision and Safety of Oil and Gas Technology Center", which is the safety technical supporting agencie for oil and gas industry. He founded the "CNPC Environment Centre CMA (Certified National Measurement Laboratory) Certification "; Also he founded " the top level Production Safety Supervision and safety training institutions of State Administration ". In early 2007, he set up the "American Institute of Chemical Engineers Center for Chemical Process Safety - China Division", cooperating with the United States Association of Chemical Engineers, which improves the influence of discipline and college in the field of China. He conducted six CCPS training and won praise in the field of petrochemical industry.
      He established the Environmental Monitoring Laboratory, Environmental Microbiology Laboratory, Water Engineering Laboratory, "odor" Pollution Assessment and Control.
